Police Confirm Investigation After Foreign National Hit by Government Vehicle on Ngong Road
The National Police Service (NPS) has confirmed that a government vehicle was involved in an accident that claimed the life of a foreign national along Ngong Road on Thursday, March 13.
In an official statement, Police Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga stated that investigations had been launched and urged eyewitnesses to come forward with any relevant information.
“Following a road traffic accident that occurred today at Adams Arcade along Ngong Road involving a government vehicle, which resulted in the death of a pedestrian who is a foreign national, the National Police Service (NPS) is now handling the matter, and investigations have commenced,” the statement read.
The police also provided toll-free emergency numbers—999, 911, 112, and #FichuakwaDCI 0800 722 203—for anyone willing to assist in the probe.
Involvement of President Ruto’s Convoy
Preliminary reports suggest that the deceased was struck by a vehicle in President William Ruto’s motorcade as he was heading to Kibra for a tour. The accident occurred near Adams Arcade, with Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja and several MPs accompanying the President at the time.
Authorities have yet to confirm the specific vehicle involved or the government department to which it belongs.
