Drunk Officer’s Rampage at Gigiri: Colleague Killed, Another Injured
In a shocking incident at Gigiri Police Station’s canteen on Monday night, an intoxicated officer opened fire, resulting in the fatal shooting of one colleague and injuring another.
According to police reports, Corporal Limo Kipkosgey Nahason—attached to Parliament as a protection officer—was visibly drunk at the time of the incident. Eyewitnesses and authorities confirmed that shortly after arriving at the station, Nahason brandished a firearm and began firing inside the canteen.

Another officer, Philip Kae, assigned to the Judiciary, sustained a gunshot wound to the lower abdomen and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
Police recovered a Jericho pistol loaded with 14 rounds from the scene. Nahason was promptly apprehended and is now in custody. Investigations are underway, including a ballistic analysis of the recovered weapon, to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
The incident has sparked concern within the police force and the community, highlighting the dangers posed by the misuse of firearms and the impact of alcohol on duty. Further updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
